Tisbury Cemetery

One of the older cemeteries I found this one to be particularly sad in that there were numerous graves of children.

Tisbury Cemetery is the rather small cemetery of a small town where many interrelated families are buried. Almost everyone in this cemetery was related in some way.

Here Lyes the body of James Allen Esq. Aged 78 Years Died July Ye 25th 1714	Here Lyes Buried ye Body of Mrs Elizabeth Allen ye relict of James Allen Esq She died in hopes of a glorious resurrection August the 8th 1722 in the 79 year of her age.	Here Lyes ye body of Deacon Experience Luce Who departed this life Janry 2nd 1747 in ye 74th Year of His Age. "Mark the perfect man and behold the upright for the End of that Man is Peace."
Here Lyes the body of Deacon Jonathan Luce who departed this life in the 2nd day of August 1763 in the 68th Year of his Age.	George Cobb, Son of Mr Samuel & Mrs Sarah Cobb;Died Janry 11th 1718/19 Aged about 5 Mo.	Samuel Cobb, Son of Mr Samuel & Mrs Sarah Cobb;Died April 28th 1721 Aged 20 Days.
Samuel Cobb, Son of Mr Samuel & Mrs Sarah Cobb; Died July 11th 1723 Aged 16 Days.	Thankfull Daug of Mr Samuel & Mrs Sarah Cobb;Died March [8th] 1727 Aged 19 Days.	In memory of that worthy woman Mrs. MARY (wife to Mr. John Gray & dau. of Mr. Salathial Tilton of Chilmark) who died suddenly July 6, 1816 in the 61 year of her age.
IN MEMORY of Mr. SAMUEL GRAY who died Octor 9th A.D. 1768 in the 68th Year of his Age	Here Lyes Buried ye Body of Mr.EDWARD HAMMET Who Departed this life March 20th 1745 in ye 66th Year of his Age.
