Werewolf Movies

(DVD) 10th Kingdom (2000) A tale of three characters, one of whom is a werewolf. Adult themed and very intrguing.

(DVD) American Werewolf In London (1981) One of the best werewolf movies out there! A combination of comedy and horror mixed in with some lovely gore.

(DVD) American Werewolf In Paris (1997) Not as good as AWIL but still a decent werewolf movie. Some really good transformations scenes but a bit sparce on plot.

(DVD)Werewolf (1996) Touted as one of THE worst werewolf movies out there those with a love for cheesy horror and bad special effects will love this one.

(DVD)Bad Moon (1996) Starring Muriel Hemmingway this werewolf movie had so much potential but was ruined by bad acting, bad special effects, and a kid. The best star in this one is the german shepherd Thor.

(DVD) The Beast Must Die (1969)Trapped in a manor several guests discover that they are confined with a werewolf and must solve who it is before time runs out and everyone is dead.

(DVD) The Beast Within (1982) A young man struggles with the monster within as people around him begin to die. Cheesy, were-insect movie.

(DVD) Blood of the Werewolf is a movie of three short werewolf stories. While the special effects are not grand the plot and storyliones are excellent.

(DVD) Brotherhood of the Wolf (2002) Based upon the legend of the Beast of Gevauden. Two men set out to capture and kill a beast that has been plagueing the villages but what they uncover is even more sinister.

(DVD) Cat People (1982) Remake of the 1942 film this revolves about a family of were-felines. Not the greatest film out there a little gorey.

(DVD)The Company of Wolves (1985) A fairy tale presentation from the point of Little Red Riding Hood. Deals with adult topics, sexuality, and death involving wolves and a kindly(?) old grandmother.

(DVD)DarkWolf (2003) Darkwolf, a half-breed hybrid werewolf, is terrorizing the streets of L.A. with evil plans to take over the world. Following on the bloody trail is strong yet sensitive L.A.P.D. detective Steve Turley. Horrible, horrible horrible film!

(DVD) Dog Soldiers (2002) Set in scotland a military task force faces off against a pack of werewolves. Excellent Film!

(DVD)Akira Kurosawa's Dreams (1990) Produced with assistance from George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, Dreams is an omnibus of eight short stories and parables that spell enchantment at every turn. One of the stories has a kitsune or were-fox.

(DVD) Ginger Snaps (2000) Like Carrie before it, Ginger Snaps uses horror-movie conventions as an inspired metaphor for puberty. When beautiful but reclusive goth teenager Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) is attacked by a monstrous wolf on the eve of her first period, her body starts changing in a big way as do her appetites. Very dark, the werewolf is a giant hairless rat. The plot isn't all that bad.

(DVD) Ginger Snaps 2 (2004) Takes up the story of Bridgette when it lets off in the first movie. I haven't seen this so I have no idea if it is good or not. It has received both good and bad reviews from those who have seen it.

(DVD) The Howling (1981) One of the best werewolf movies out there. Great and innovative transformations scenes for the times!

(VHS)Howling II.(1982) Has to be the worst werewolf movie ever made.

(DVD)Howling III The Marsupials(1984) Cheesy and weird as hell.

(VHS) Howling IV Orinal Nightmare (2002)Not as bad, still it's a sequel.

(DVD)Howling V The Rebirth (1989) I liked this one but still it holds no candle to the original.

(DVD)Howling VI The Freaks (1991) One of the better Howling sequels.

Howling-New Moon Rising (1995) Has little to do with werewolves at all. You just end up scratching your head on this one.

(VHS)How To Make A Monster (1958)

(VHS)I Was A Teenage Werewolf (1957) Micael Landon starred in this one as a teenage werewolf on the prowl.

(DVD) LadyHawke (1985) With both a werewolf and a were-hawk as well as some good actors this movie was actually quite excellent.

(DVD)The Mad Monster (1942)

(VHS) Monster Dog (1982) Alice Cooper plays a rock star returned home from fame. The town believes him to be a werewolf like his father.

(VHS) Monster Squad (1987) I love this movie. A bunch of kids discover movie monsters have invaded their town and they are the only ones that can battle the forces of evil. "Wolfmans got NARDS!!!"

(DVD) Curse of the QueerWolf (1987)A straight man is bitten by a transvestite and is transformed into a cross dresser by night.

(DVD) Silver Bullet (1985) Based on Stephen King's Cycle of the Werewolf. Good film, very little appearance of the werewolf and no transformation sequences except a reverse transformation at the end.

(DVD) The Secret of Roan Inish (1995) A family holds the myth and legend of the selkies in their blood.

(DVD) Teen Wolf (1985) Michael J. Fox stars in this comedy about a teenager plagued not only with puberty but Lycanthropy as well.

(DVD) Underworld (2003) A struggle of power between werewolves and vampires. (I hated this movie).

(DVD) Curse of the Werewolf Woman (1974?) A woman is cursed with lycanthropy.

(DVD) Wilderness (1996) Loosely based on the book by Dan Danvers. A woman struggles with the wolf inside of her as she attempts to pursue a life and a relationship.

(DVD)Wolf (1994) Jack Nicholson plays the part of a man bitten by a wolf who slowly begins the transformation from man into beast.

(DVD) Wolfen (1981) Albert Finney plays an investigator on the trail of killers and discovers a wolfish mystery lurking beneath the city.

(DVD) The Wolf Man - The Legacy Collection (The Wolf Man / Werewolf of London / Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man / She-Wolf of London) (1941) All the werewolf classics with Lon Chaney in one.
