Title: Broken Circles

She's the
Queen of Shadows
and I, her
Shadow-King
and our domain
a land of pain
of broken dreams
and poison springs

I see the
blackened trees
their dolor
and disease
it runs beneath
this barren heath
in streams of tears
to sunless seas

I feel the
bitter smiles
the broken teeth
of crocodiles
that lie beneath
the thorny wreath
that is our crown
we slip the knot
and tumble down

Now she is
King of Shadows
and I, her
Shadow-Queen
the stars above,
our sons
and daughters
burning, light
the silent waters
of the empty
in-between

As broken circles
synchronize
in bloody skies
the red suns rise
they blind my eyes
and shine through
the facade of
my disguise

I smile as
all the while
I play the clown
the Shadow-Puppet
cursed to wear
this crown
immersed in seas
of shadow
I must drown

I'm the
King of Shadows
as well the
Shadow-Queen
alone, enthroned
amidst a sea of
broken circles
in-between

I seek in vain
release, surcease or
solace from
this pain
but I no
answers find
within these
lines aligned
the bitter tears
and wasted years
that span the chasm
of my mind

I'm the
Fool of Shadows
a prisoner
of fears
the broken circles
of my mind
the bitter springs
the sea of tears

I'm the
Tool of Shadows
a pawn in their
dark schemes
in darkling threads
ensnared, entwined
the token of
my broken dreams
