Title: Dead Again

Dead again,
alone without a friend,
watching empty sky
go drifting by
and counting endless
tears, I cry again.
Is this the end?

Dead again,
no more "let's pretend"
no more reasons,
all the seasons
fade to numbing white
and shadows dark descend
Is this not the end?

It is so quiet
I expected more than this!
Where are the marching bands?
The accolades?
The endless ticker-tape parades?
Pyrotechnics and fanfare?
Doesn't anybody care?

Dead again,
as if it really mattered,
all my brains are spattered
there on the restroom wall.
Nobody ever really cared.
Nobody cares at all.
