the lonely sea laps the lonely shore
the waves crash on the barren sand
the moon hangs in misery-laden skies
the clouds look down and cry
upon the memory of what once was
and will never be again
the dying seas lap the long-dead land
an ocean of bitter tears
the still and sepulchral air
its toxic breath an instant death
a curse upon what once was
and will never be again
although the sun and the moon
may hope in vain
the dying seas kiss
the long-dead land
goodbye
