endless worthless waking hours
crawling slowly by
with every breath
a wish for death
but never do I die
why?
the dark unending abyss
is calling out to me
salvation's ship lies sunken
at the bottom of the sea
all misery and disillusion
frustration deep despair
isolation and confusion
I cry out
no one is there
all promises are broken
my dreams have come to nought
my soul is dying slowly
as my body's gone to rot
no happiness or passion
seduction or surprise
a flickering of life-light
fading slowly from my eyes...
