As for your ghost, I think the safest course of action would be for the group of you to get together, and vocally acknowledge its presence, and politely ask it to not disturb you anymore. This would be the most passive approach. The problem is, much like with children (and some adults), asking/demanding that a behaviour be changed often has detrimental, and sometimes violent, reprocussions.
