Mythos Wars

The First Great Battle

The First Great Battle, as it is now being called, was a relatively shortlived if not explosive conflict. As the chaotic madness of the Old Ones began to engulf the world with their minions, the Elder Gods, too, sought out allies on the electral plane. And thus the Mythos Wars began.

But as quickly as it had begun, it was over. Minion Burgess lead that ragtag group of the followers of those dark damnations in a sullen victory over the Elder Alliance. With a final score of 18 to 11, the forces of Cthulhu had won.

Make no mistake, others came. And in large numbers. But it was too late. For the invoking stones of both sides had became useless, drained of all their ether power. The first battle was over.

For several years the powers of evil held tighter sway over the planet. They stood unopposed. Only small shadow campaigns and limited exchanges occurred during the interim. Then a new hero arose and took up the battle standard of the Fallen Elders. He struck again and again, relentless, tireless. Others gained faith in this new warrior and joined the battle.

But just as quickly, and just as powerful, came the fabled Champion of the Ancients. This cthonic knight gathered once again his fellow minions. The squabbling sects of the Cult of Cthulhu were reunited and organized by his own bloodied hands.

And thus began the Second Great Battle of the Mythos Wars, which rages all around us and you are now a part of. Who knows when or how it will end? Or if there will be another Great Battle? Only strange aeons will tell. . .
