Spells

Preamble

The following information is a result of years of gathering from others learned in The Craft. Once again, respectful care and thoughtful consideration in using this knowledge goes without saying ... but I am saying it out of an abundance of caution. That said, may you find a pearl or two here.

Ritual: Samhain - Ancestor Night, Celtic New Year

Preparation:
After sunset, preferably at around nine o'clock in the evening, take an earthenware bowl, bury it up to the rim in earth, place salt in the bowl, and in the salt place a candle (which should be short enough to be below the level of the earth). Each celebrant should have a glass of red wine in hand.
The celebrants should say quietly:
Blessing:
"Blessings be upon the dead
that know blessings be upon the dead
that guard blessings be upon the dead that are."
(This should be said in unison three times, then the leader should say):
"In the name of goodness and mercy and the holy power grant your protection and guidance through this year, bless this house and household with your wisdom bless this house and household with your strength, bless this house and household with your good. Answer if it will be your answer."
(There should be a moment or two of silence.)
Leader:
"Blessings upon you all in all ways we can bless
Gratitude for all good you have given
Reverence for all your help and guidance
This we say on this night of the year
As taken for all nights of all our years."
Leader should then say three times:
"Blessings be!"
Celebrants should repeat this phrase after it is spoken by the Leader.
Red wine should then be poured in the earth around the jar and a little in the jar, not enough to douse the candle. The candle should be left to go out on its own accord, and the following morning the contents should be buried in an appropriate place.
If the ceremony has to take place indoors:
The bowl should be placed in the middle of a circle on the floor, or in the center of a round table and the candle should be set in earth, which is then covered with salt.

Ritual: Home Purification
Make sure all ingredients are completly dry. Grind ingredients together and burn on self-igniting charcoal.

Incense:

1 tablespoon pine needles
1 tablespoon juniper
1 tablespoon cedar

Blessing:

Spirits of the corners,
Winds of the quarters,
You who stand watching,
And you who hear my voice,
Guard well my home tonight.

You can also bless your home using an old custom involving bread and salt. Bread is offered to the household guardians as a libation, and the salt is kept in the heart of the home to ground any evil that might enter. After you do this, burn a purifying or protecting incense such as frankincense, cinnamon, or pepper moving it from room to room while you visualize any negativity fleeing from your home. As you go, chant over and over your words of power:
Blessing:
Smoke of air and fire and earth
Cleanse and bless this home and hearth
Drive away all harm and fear
Only good may dwell in here.

Stone Spells
You can use the stone spells for anything ... love, money, health, wealth, spirit awareness, et cetera. The key to this type of empowerment is concentration and belief. When you have completed your stone spell, carry the stone(s) around with you. Eventually, you will start to manifest what you intend. This spell has been proven to work.
To Gather:

1 Small stone of your choice (any kind)
1 candle (correct color for what you want)
Appropriate herbs
Appropriate incense
Salt
Water
A cloth
Oil (either olive, jasmine, or mint)
Some bowls (glass or crystal)

To Do: There are no words for this spell, it's all concentration and visualization. First you need to meditate on what you want, be it money, love, better health....whatever you want. After you feel you have meditated long enough, you may start the spell.
Light the candle and incense. (Be sure you have all of the things you need with you.) Hold the rock in your power hand. Concentrate on what you want. Run the rock throught the flame 3 times. Then put it into the water. Cup your hands over the bowl. Then take the rock out of the water and sprinkle the herbs on it. After you have done that, put the rock into a dry bowl.
Visualize yourself getting what you want. Then anoint the rock with the oil and put the rock back into the dry bowl. Sprinkle some salt onto the rock.
Concentrate more. Then wrap the rock in the cloth and leave it for at least 24 hours. Let the candle and incense burn all the way out. Dispose of the water.

Creating A Ring Of Protection

Select a silver ring that fits one of your fingers. Take that ring and place it in the Westernmost corner of the room in which you wish to cast your spell. Place shells and symbols of water around the ring itself. Then, take the ring and put it into a shell filled with water mixed with some sea salt. Chant:
"Creature of water, I beseech of thee.
Protection from harm is my wish for me.
Into you this ring I place.
Bind your protection well to it
And by it to evil give chase."

Leave the ring in overnight in the light of the full moon. In the morning, wash the salt water off, clear everything away and wear the ring!
To remove the spell, bury the ring in earth in a northern corner and chant:
"With thanks for protection given,
I now wish this spell riven!"

To cleanse the ring, leave the ring buried overnight and stored in a window during a new moon evening.

For Absolution

In a shaded room, burn candles three
Whose wax is as black as ebony;
Let incense cloud and thicken the air,
Then write these words against despair:
DOLOR FUMOSUS
ANIMUS ATRATUS
IN LUCTU SUM
SIGNO SIGNUM

Burn the paper and powder its ash
In a shallow bowl of polished brass;
Cover your hands with this dark dust:
Your past will be cleansed, your future blessed.

Car Accident Prevention
This spell should be cast on a Wednesday, during the Waxing to full moon phase. To make the talisman, then cast the spell, you will need:
"Strength" card from Tarot deck (use a very small deck, if possible)
Copper wiring
Clover, Star Anise, Catnip
Orange-colored cloth
Orange Candle
Black ribbon
Catnip oil (or any protection oil you may have on hand)

Prepare the car/truck you want to protect by parking in a quiet area. Rub oil into candle and, with the front door open, place candle on ground and light it. Working inside the car, visualize a triple orange light of protection encompassing the car or truck. Sprinkle some of the herbs around car, especially the steering wheel. Take copper wire and twist it into either a cross or star, then place the copper talisman on the outside hood of the vehicle. Visualize a safety net coming from the talisman and encasing the vehicle (with you in it).
Chant:
Taliesin, Merlyn, and Cerridwen,
Protect me now, your safe guard send.
Help me see clearly, on every street.
No accidents, no harm will I meet.
Copper star, by my fingers made,
Protect me from this very day.
Keep me in your orange glow,
Behind the wheel, I'm in control.
East then South, then West and North,
All directions guarded from this day forth.
By the Law of Three, So Mote It Be.

Next, place all herbs, copper talisman, tarot card, herbs and wax drippings from the candle used into an orange linen bag made from the piece of cloth. Tie it closed using the black ribbon and hang it in the vehicle.

Banishing
A simple, but effective, spell.
Clear your mind and breathe (in Hawaiian, this is known as piko-piko)
Focus your energy on the object to be banished
Chant:
Sand and sea,
Wind and Sun,
Banish it now, its power is done!

Basil Protection Spell
This should be done during a full moon.
Begin with your customary ritual opening (casting the circle, etc.)
Have ready to use: one orange candle
one carnation flower
some freshly cut Basil (hopefully, you gather from the plant yourself, in the proper manner)

Place the carnation in a bowl of consecrated water. Set the basil in front of the orange candle. Light the orange candle with the Presence candle. Breathe deeply as you clear your mind. Begin to concentrate on the powers of protection, visualizing a strong shell surrounding you, glowing hot. Then, say in a powerful voice:
I call on the Guardians
and on the power of the Lord and the Lady.
I surround myself with the protection of fire.
I am supported by the strength and grace of Earth.
The winds bring me gentle shifts
And Water's flow eases the energy in this time.
I believe in this protection and I release my fears,
So that I may connect with the pulse of life.
May this be done within the greater good,
So mote it be, and be it, it should!

Be sure to close your circle and give appropriate offerings in thanks.

Dark Moon Ritual

Use only consecrated ritual tools.
Bathe in Fairy Realm bath salts.
Annoint your body using Lady Morgana oil.
Light a black candle, then burn Hecate incense on charcoal.

Begin: Kneeling in front of the altar, meditate then recite the following: "Dark Queen, Thou who dwelleth within the mouth of the Abyss, descend and show Thyself to me! I seek to be rid of all that dwells within the dark parts of my Soul! I seek to bring all these things to light and therefore have naught between me and Thee! I am confounded by my Shadow self and would ask Thee to swallow it up and rebirth it as power and inspiration!"

Raise power to serpent, which is wound around waist and thighs, as it represents the power of the Lady.

Lead meditation: Descend down the tunnel at the base of the altar. Watch for animals. Go to a tree. Find Shadow. Call upon the serpent and direct it using your will. When finished, ascend, saying: "Thou are the Dark Sea from which all life comes and unto which all life returns! Morgana, of the Dark Moon, I acknowledge the Three within the One and am humbled by Thy Might. Accept me as Thine own daughter of Darkness as well as of the Light! I walk the path mightily and am powerful in the eyes of the Gods!"

Now to the candle: "As this candle burns, so shall my fears. When it dies so shall they cease to be!"

To close the circle: "The Great Mother is ever our refuge. I may enter circle with a heavy heart but leave refreshed and revitalized to face the world anew!"

Leave your candle somewhere safe and record your visions in your notebook.

A Protection Bottle Spell
Used to neutralize the power of those who intend to inflict physical harm upon you, or hurt your reputation, or in any way pose a threat to your security. You Will need:
4 tbsp. Frankincense or Myrrh resin, crushed into powder
4 tbsp. Black powdered Iron
4 tbsp. Sea Salt
4 tbsp. Orris Root Powder (or Oak Moss)
1 white candle
1 glass bottle with a cork or lid
Mortar and Pestle
Parchment paper
Feather Quill and Dragon's Blood Ink (or regular black ink pen)
Black thread

Mix the sea salt, orris root powder and powdered iron in a bowl. Cut a piece of parchment to fit inside your bottle. Write the following words on it using dragon's blood ink or black ink:
I neutralize the power of (name of adversary) from doing me any harm.
I ask that this be correct and for the good of all.
So mote it be!

Roll up the parchment so that it becomes a scroll small enough to fit inside the bottle. Tie it with black thread to bind it. Place it in the bottle. Fill the bottle with the dry ingredients. Take the white candle and, while turning the bottle counterclockwise, drip the wax over the cork to seal it. Lastly, secretly bury the bottle in a place where it will not be disturbed or otherwise dug up by animals or people. This spell is like a genie in a bottle. It should never be opened, else the power of the spell is lost.

Beauty Spell
Start on a New Moon.
Tools:

Rose quartz
6 rose petals
Bottle of witch hazel

Meditation:

Look at your face and all it flaws. Visualize your face changing into, the face you want. Rub the stone lightly over the problem areas and chant:
"Stone of beauty, stone of love
Erase imperfection as I rub.
Bring to me the face I see
As I will so mote it be!"

Open the bottle of witch hazel and insert the stone. Take the rose petals in your dominant hand and say:
"Venus, One of beauty rare.
I offer you these petals fair.
Bless them with your loveliness
And bring the beauty I request"

Rub the petals over any line, wrinkles etc then drop them in the witch hazel. Cap the bottle tightly and give it six shakes each day for a week. At the end of the week, use it every day as a toner after face washing. As you apply it say:
"Imperfections, go away.
Beauty of Venus, come forth this day."

Rose Petal Rinse
Used as a "spray," this is great for "hot flashes" in pre-menopausal woman! Refrigerate between uses.
Ingredients:

1 tbsp dried rosemary or 2 tbsp fresh rosemary
2 tbsp dried chamomile flowers
4 cups water
2 tbsp dried or fresh rose petals

Combine all ingredients in a small glass or enameled pan and boil uncovered over a medium heat for 10 minutes. Cool to room temperature, then strain out the herbs. Put liquid in a bottle with a lid and dab on with cotton. Alternatively, put it in a spray bottle and spritz it on your skin. Rinse off. This rinse will remove any traces of soap on your face.
