Poetry by Debmentia

One door closes, another opens.

Long nights spent alone,
ex-lover sleeping on the couch,
does he even know he's an ex?
Does he care?
He left me long ago.
And I've found you,
someone who loves me.
Sweet blood,
sweet arms,
sweet lips........
and more, much more.
A month and a half have passed,
an eternity to be apart,
yet somehow you are with me,
all the same.
October you say,
and you'll be here.
So much to do,
so much to plan
in these long nights.
Samhain....and the door opens!
And our new life
begins.

Dream Lover

Again I dreamt of you.
Again I wake without you.
And again I lay there fighting tears.
How can you not be near me?
How can you not be here?
The world makes no sense.
And I want to drown myself in dreams.
Until the day when I can
drown myself in your arms.

Not Even Death

You are bound to me,
chained within the fastness
of my heart.
Hand and foot,
I hold you.
I have claimed you for my own.
I have drunk your blood
under the full of the moon;
my mark forever
carved into your flesh,
the first of many.
It is indelible proof
that you are mine.
Not even death can free you,
not even death.
