Tornados and other storms

I actually have some kind of relationship with Tornados. I dream about them alot. Like more than normal. In my dreams I am always the one who notices the tornado first and I tell every one that it is comeing and to get down and hold on to something. Then I watch it as it rippes through houses and towns destroying everything in its path. Im not scared of it. As a matter of fact I love it because I can feel its strength and power. I then wake up to find in the paper the next day that a real tornado struck some where in another state far from where I am.

I've noticed that a lot of vampires on this list have an affinity for weather, especially for storms (and tornados in particular). This strikes me as being more than a little weird, because I've never thought of storms as having anything to do with vampirism. Some vampires in literature are said to have power over the weather (including the ability to cause mist or turn into mist) but it doesn't seem to be a common theme. Furthermore, to me the vampiric experience has been about symbiosis - the blending of souls, the taking of blood and life, etc. How do storms fit into this? Like nocturnal tendencies, I think this phenomenon might have to go unexplained for a while.

By the way, before I had this bizarre tendency to accidentally cause extreme weather (or maybe attract it is the better way of describing what happens) I too used to dream constantly about tornados. Every time my life was about to experience a turning point or a crisis, a tornado dream would come to me, as a sort of combination Death/Tower/Chariot trump. How I dealt with the tornado would be an indication of how the crisis would affect me. If I spotted the tornado in time and got everybody out of harm's way, that was a good sign that I was prepared for whatever would happen; running away screaming from the tornado was generally not a good sign, because it often meant that whatever was going to happen would be something that I would have a hard time coping with. The dream was sort of a way for my subconscious to say "Brace yourself, it's going to get ugly." How far away the tornado was, how large it was, its colour (black was always bad; white or grey were better) and whether or not it touched down were all important. Before the worst crises of my life, I've had repeating tornado dreams, and even incidents of tornado touchdowns. Before Gideon and Emma broke up with me, seven tornados came near Columbus, OH (where I was living with Buffy). Some people get ravens or other birds as omens. I get tornados. Good thing I've discovered how beautiful they are and how much I love them...

Actually, ever since I had a tornado form over my head (last year, at pennsic, when Scott and I were on the verge of breaking up due to severe problems - maybe I summoned that one, too?) I've been less afraid of tornados; I want to be a storm chaser when I have a car and a decent income. Tornados have been appearing more and more frequently in my dreams (and in my life) and haven't had the ominous feel that they used to have - maybe if they are like messengers to me, they've started saying hello now, as well as warning me about future disasters.
